Safety instructions
Read first
NGS is a motion system that generates high torque and is capable of unlimited rotation. The motion envelope must under no circumstances be entered while the system is in motion. Personnel who have not read this manual and have not received training must not operate the system.
Emergency stop
- The system is equipped with at least two emergency stop buttons: one on the electrical cabinet and one at the operator station.
- When an emergency stop button is pressed, the axes are decelerated in a controlled manner, after which motor torque is safely removed (Safe Torque Off).
- Before the system is restarted, the emergency stop button must be released and the Reset button must be deliberately pressed.
Energy isolation before maintenance (LOTO)
- Stop the motion and bring the platform to the park position.
- Switch off and lock the main switch (Q1) on the cabinet.
- Attach a tag bearing your name to the lock.
- Wait for the time specified on the drive to elapse so that the drive DC-link capacitors can discharge.
- Verify the absence of voltage by measurement.
General rules
- The cabinet door may only be opened by authorized electrical personnel.
- After slip ring maintenance, the system must not be operated until the safety tests in the maintenance manual have been repeated.
- It must be verified regularly that the brakes operate so as to engage when power is removed.
